CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is an alternative therapy that uses the placing of hands on the craniosacral system, the system of membranes and cerebrospinal fluids that surround the brain and spinal cord, in an effort to prevent various health issues and to bolster the ability to resist disease. This therapy takes a whole body approach to healing and the Mind-Body-Spirit connection. Through soft touch, usually no stronger than the weight of a nickel, practitioners can release the restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the function of the central nervous system.
Some problems that CST has been shown to help are:

  • Migraine Headaches
  • Chronic Neck and Back Pain
  • Motor-Coordination Impairments
  • Colic
  • Autism
  • Central Nervous System Disorders
  • Orthopedic Problems
  • Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Scoliosis
  • Infantile Disorders
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Emotional Difficulties
  • Stress and Tension-Related Problems
  • Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders
  • Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
  • Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Post-Surgical Dysfunction

CST is appropriate for use on people of all ages, including babies, children and the elderly, and can be effective in severe, acute or chronic cases.

Ancient Indian Head Massage
For thousands of years, head massage has been part of India’s culture. Now, this seemingly simple technique is finding multitudes of people looking to use it to heal today’s problems.

Indian Head Massage is based on prevention of problems, addressing issues before they are allowed to settle in the body. It is not intended to simply ward off stress, but also to inspire the body to heal itself. Indian Head Massage aims to balance every system in the body and seeks to create a balance between the Mind, Body and Spirit. When this relationship is symbiotic, everything else flows naturally, energy flows freely throughout the body and the body is able to resolve disease. The list of benefits for this type of therapy is lengthy.

The routine for Indian Head Massage generally starts with the upper back, moves to the shoulders arms and hands, goes up the neck to the scalp and finishes with the face and ears. Oils are typically part of this therapy, and are used to both nurture the skin and hair and to open the spirit. Indian Head Massage is appropriate for use on all age groups.
